I’ve spent most of my day getting projects ready for their next steps.
I quilted three of my birthday cards so they’ll be ready to attach to parcels. I’m hoping I can get the packages either to the Post Office or to a courier tomorrow; someone suggested that since I have a few heavier items a courier might be a cheaper route than the mail.
I finished up a section of hand quilting last night so I marked the next sections that need to be done; after that there is just the binding and perhaps a little more quilting on the border. The Guild have fancy labels they are using for our Hands Across the Water event in the fall; I picked one up yesterday and I have it pinned to the back of my contribution so it is ready to be hand stitched down. The latest Splendid Sampler block requires some embroidery work so I transferred the design and it is ready to go. That’s probably enough evening work for at least a week but just in case it bores me (as the hand quilting does) I started a new knitting project last night.
I decided that if I can keep up with the Circa 2016 and the Splendid Sampler quilt-alongs there is no reason for me not to be adding a least the same number of blocks to my Farmer’s Wife project each week. We’ll see how that goes in the next few weeks but I could, potentially, be finished all my blocks by the end of April – wouldn’t that be marvellous.
I’m off now to finish off today’s Farmer’s Wife block.
