Unsettled

Monday, March 21, 2016

I’ve been puttering away at bits and pieces today but I’m feeling unsettled for whatever reason. I was up early so before I even had breakfast I finished the last couple of seams on one of my Splendid Sampler blocks.

After breakfast I got some things ready for the mail. After I stopped at the Post Office I dropped by an acquaintance’s house; she had a quilt that needed some repair work done and I said I’d take a look at it. It is worn in many places in the body but Sarah felt she could fix those herself; what she wanted help with was around the outside edge. It too was very worn but I think I can put an extra wide binding on it and it should be fine. I had trouble figuring out how the edge was originally done; her Grandma who is 94 now made it for her when Sarah was a child.

When I got home I started working on another card. These last two have been very challenging but I like the end results. April is a big birthday month so I still have a few more to do. The patterns I’ve picked for the rest of the month are easier.

After lunch I spent some time organizing a couple of projects for the bee tomorrow. I did some ukelele practicing but I couldn’t get interested even though it is club tonight and I did very little work all week. I made a start on another Splendid Sampler block before Pat called me to help hang a rod with clips for hanging my quilts. We have one up but there are still four more to go.
