I finished off another of my Splendid Sampler blocks this morning before moving on to some prep work for a couple of other projects. When that was done I was more than happy to spend some time cleaning up my sewing spaces. I did a bit of furniture rearranging – nothing drastic but hopefully something that helps somewhat with the clutter. I cleaned up enough that I felt the whole upstairs warranted some vacuuming.

Pat has a Song Circle tomorrow and I promised him I’d make some treats so I made some Peanut Butter cookies this afternoon. While the last sheet was baking I made a Rice Krispie cake; I had some marshmallows and rice krispies from last month’s event and thought I could use them up. There are more than enough cookies for the event and for ourselves; with cookies as well as rice krispie squares it feels like Christmas all over again – Christmas is about the only time we have more than one treat in the house.

When the baking and clean up were done I was reluctant to come upstairs and start sewing; it is nice to have a clean room for a short while! I was almost finished my book so I spent an hour reading. I have one more library book on loan and then I’ll have to get back to reading some of the ones on my own bookshelves and bedside table.

There isn’t much time left before supper, but I think there is enough to do a bit of prep work to get my Itty Bitty project ready for hand quilting.
