It’s a start

Pat and I both had appointments this morning at about the same time but at opposite ends of town. I finished the laundry from the weekend guests and got beds ready for the next set who arrive tomorrow. We got a free chair this morning from Carola (to match one she gave us earlier) and I wanted to see if it would work for when I play my ukulele. It works well and I’ve practiced a couple of times today. I think I’m getting the hang of the pieces we play at the club and hopefully I won’t have to fake it quite so much next week.

We had friends drop by just after lunch. Dan was repairing a couple of chairs that Pat dug out of our back room when he was doing his own version of de-cluttering. I think we have enough chairs now that we won’t need to use the stools (rather uncomfortable) or the deck chairs at our House Concerts.

I also did a few web updates. I posted my latest blocks to The Splendid Sampler Facebook page and, since I didn’t do it yesterday, I updated the Guild blog.

IMG_7908I cleaned and oiled my sewing machine so I had no excuse to neglect my quilting project. Now that I’ve started I wish I had the whole day tomorrow to work on it. I’m stabilizing it by going in-the-ditch around the blocks and it is quite addictive. I have a plan for the quilting on the rest of it and I think that is why I want to keep at it; I usually don’t have a quilting plan so next time I might have to plan it all out before I start.
