Working on the garden

Sunday, January 31, 2016

The party last night was a lot of fun but we weren’t home until after midnight and by the time we relaxed a bit and I read a bit it was close to 2 AM before the lights went out. I’m tired today so I’ll probably have an early night. Pat is off to the monthly coffee house; I’m staying at home to get a head start on cleaning for the House Concert on Tuesday. There isn’t a lot to do before our guests arrive – with putting the Christmas tree up and taking it down and all our furniture rearranging the vacuuming has been kept up and I’ve been much more consistent at doing the other cleaning.

AG_Week 1I was cross stitching today but taking a break from my Christmas theme. I was working on my Antique Gardener stitchery. I joined a cross stitch group on Facebook and I’m trying to stay involved. Wednesday is the day to post our works-in-progress; last week I posted the Advent calendar but I wouldn’t want the members to think that is my only project under construction!

I was given an eyeglass cord for Christmas but I took it off yesterday before the party. Today as I stitched I found myself flinging my glasses off only to realize they weren’t attached to me! I had a cup of coffee on the table where I do my stitching; I didn’t upset the cup on my work but I often cut off the ends of the threads and they ended up in my coffee cup instead of the small tin I use as a garbage.
