You’ve heard of the group “It’s Just Lunch”? Pat suggested this morning that we go out to Magpie’s for breakfast; we needed to eat and we also needed to pick up some tickets for a Valentine’s dinner they are having. So sure, why not?
Before we left though I was reminded of Uncle Jack. When Pat suggested breakfast I said I guessed I would have to brush my hair. While I was doing that I noticed my shirt was on backwards. When I was growing up, Uncle Jack was always telling me my shirt was on backwards and many times it was!
While we were waiting for our meal we chatted about the boys (Will and Alex) possibly coming this summer and we thought of several things that might be fun for them to do with us. I suggested to Pat that we should get a ukulele and they could learn to play while they were here – in case it rained for a day. By the end of the meal we were on our way to the music shop because Pat had persuaded me I should get a ukulele, learn to play it and then I could teach the boys. By noon Pat had placed an offer on a used ukulele, I had joined a group for ukulele lessons and indicated my Facebook interest in joining the Powell River Ukulele Club. It’s never “just breakfast” when Pat gets me out of the house!
I spent the first part of the afternoon getting ready for the bee tomorrow – I cut out four new projects so that should be enough to keep me busy for a couple of weeks. I’ve been avoiding sandwiching and quilting some projects so I’m off to do that now.
