And the next storm rolls in

Sunday, December 6, 2015

All was relatively quiet last night when I went to bed and I was able to have the window open a bit; I like to have fresh air when I’m sleeping. There was a stiff breeze this morning but no whitecaps on the water. Dylan was playing football today in the Valley Community Football Peewee Provincials and I was glad the heavy wind and rain held off until he was finished. I caught myself waving to him a couple of times when he was on the field; I was watching over the internet so I could hardly expect him to wave back! They lost rather badly but hopefully they all had a good time.

I worked on a couple of different appliqué patterns today. I don’t necessarily like appliqué work but I have to admit when it is machine-done it goes much faster than piecing (and I need to work faster). I’m finishing up the quilting on three pieces now; depending on the colour of thread in the machine I move from one to another. I also have one piece ready for binding. I have been hand stitching binding the past couple of nights but I don’t think I’ll have anything ready for this evening.

Shortly after noon our Sunday storm rolled in and it is blowing (and raining) strong again now. The morning and noon ferries ran but the next run is cancelled; the little Texada ferry just keeps going and going (but I’m glad I’m not on it)!
