I’ve felt a bit dragged out all day; I was up for over an hour in the middle of the night so I guess it isn’t surprising. I managed to use the time wisely and I finished my book.
Most of the morning was spent catching up on things around the house. There were dishes to be put away from the concert, lots of bed linens and towels to be exchanged and a few floors to sweep. We generally only put our garbage out on a recycle day but our bin was overflowing so I put it out this morning after I ran across to City Hall for some tags.
It was almost noon before I got upstairs to my studio. Today’s task was to get the borders on Twinkling Stars. I wouldn’t normally show a project at the Guild until it was finished. This was my library choice for November; I missed the November Guild meeting so I want to show it at the December meeting. I’m still working on my December project so in order to get caught up (to my own imposed deadline) I’ll show them both before they are quilted.
I was just finishing up the last two mitred corners on my quilt when Pat called me down. He had spotted whales out towards Harwood Island. We’re not sure what kind they were but Pat thinks either gray or humpback; whatever they were they seemed to be enjoying the sunny day and were doing lots of splashing.
We’re off now to pick up my car; there was a leak in one of the hoses. When I told Pat how much it was going to cost he said “Ouch”, but I think I got off rather lucky.
