Looking forward

Pat and I had an appointment at the bank this morning at ten but before then I had time to put a few stitches into a cross stitch project and do a bit of cutting for a project I’m taking to Texada. After we were finished at the bank I took a walk to get my step count up and ended at my yoga class. It is a lovely fall day and I enjoyed the walk; getting out of the house is the hardest part.

Nov 9This afternoon I did some prep work for the bee tomorrow. Our bee is at our alternate location tomorrow and, because table space is limited, I try to take some hand stitching. It took quite awhile to get the background piece cut and traced for my hexie project but I’m already very happy with the results. I will start by adding the stems in embroidery thread and then move on to the actual hexes. I don’t know how I would have managed without my light box; I need to purchase another Frixion pen but for this I used a pencil mark that I think (hope) will be hidden by the embroidery or the hexies.

I also took some time to cut out my November bitty block. I’ll work on it before our Mini Meez meeting; if it is done I’ll have four things to show!

For the rest of the afternoon I’m going to do some stitching on a mystery quilt I started on New Year’s Day 2013; it is one of my Guild UFO challenge projects for the year. It is a project that will be going to Texada with me but I’d like to be “into” it a bit before I arrive. So far the cutting is done, the pre-sewing is done (80 quarter-square triangles) and I’m ready to start Clue 1 (of 10).
