I have read other Kingsolver books – some I liked and some I didn’t – but I decided this would be my clear-the-shelf book for this month.

There are three main characters in the book and each has their own story to tell. In the end all the characters are linked in some way, be it through relationships, goats and even a chair! Another big component of the book is each of the characters’ view on the environment. In this time of climate change, animal culls, and invasive plant concerns it is interesting to read about the science behind what man has done to destroy the natural world.
