Borders

Tuesday, October 27, 2015

I hoped to have three quilt tops to show you today but things didn’t move along as quickly as I thought.

I cut two borders for one of my projects. They were long pieces and I was stitching both border pieces together so I could miter the edges. I guess I wasn’t paying close enough attention because one of the borders was sewn on the wrong side of the other one. And because the pieces were so long it took some time to rip it out and restitch.

After lunch I stitched the borders on the quilt and decided on a change of plan. Rather than moving on to another top and another border I thought I would get the corners mitered right away. I looked in my bag but couldn’t find my notes on how to do it, and the woman who usually helps me wasn’t sewing today so I had to move on – again!

At the end of the day I have one top with borders, but the corners aren’t done yet. I have two borders cut for another top as well as a flange and two borders cut for the third top. Some days I’m less productive than others!

We’re off to a concert tonight – the one I won tickets for at the silent auction.
