A few days ago I went to one of my cupboards to pull out a crocheted pumpkin to fill for the girl next door. We don’t “do” Hallowe’en but Solana is the only kid in the neighbourhood who might be out trick or treating so in the past I’ve taken her a little bag of treats during the day. There were no more pumpkins to be found in my bin (lots of Easter stuff though) so I was on the lookout for something else.
I belong to a Facebook group called Quick Quilt Saturday; they offer a quick project every week. I’ve had some successes with their posts and some failures. The little treat bag posted this week looked doable so I started my sewing day with that. I had a bit of trouble with the directions and ended up with a bag that couldn’t be opened – not quite what I had in mind. I took it apart and sorted out which way everything went together and once I did that I saw what they had left out of their instructions; I’ve added my own notes to the pattern in case I want to make some bags for the craft sale. It is quite small though (only 5″x6″) so I’m not sure it it would be much of seller at the sale.
I have all my Twinkling Star blocks put together. Next they need to be stitched into rows; I hope to have the rows done by Tuesday so I can get some advice on my choices for borders.
We’re off to the Coffee House at Cranberry Hall tonight.
