I did some work on the Guild’s recipe book this morning. I don’t have a lot of the recipes entered in yet, but there are already a few that I want to try. I’ve only been doing a bit of work on it here and there, but I think I should keep track of the time I’m spending on it. It might make everyone think I’m really slow, but if they know how much work I put into it I may get out of some-less desirable job when we host the event.
There was a Women in Business event at the Senior Centre today and I popped in to see what was going on. There was very little I was interested in but I came home with information on a Pilates studio and a sample of some cream that is supposed to help your various aches and pains. I’ll see how my yoga goes; I may do some pilates next. There was a table with information about a woman who offers house cleaning but she wasn’t in attendance – I think I’m ready to consider having someone come in to do the clean-up before our House Concerts.
I stopped at the fabric shop to sign up for my wool felt appliqué class. Of course that’s not all I purchased. She had some thread on sale so I bought a couple of colours, I picked up a couple of her sale fabrics, and I bought a pattern that was on sale. Lainey says she no longer carries the two rulers I need for the project but I can borrow hers when I’m ready to start (which won’t be until I finish a lot of other things).
When I came home my batik fabrics were all washed and dried so I spent some time pressing them and getting them packaged up for the retreat. Since most of the pieces are cut on the bias I decided it was better to cut them as I needed them rather than doing any pre-cuts. I have a note on top of the bin to remind me of all the “things” I need to take to work on it; I would hate to get there and be missing something.
I finally got down to some sewing and finished up a half-dozen more blocks for my Oncology donation quilt. I don’t think I’ll sew any longer this afternoon, but I hope to get all the cutting done for the rest of the blocks.
I had a problem with my knitting pattern last night and had to rip out a few rows. I hope to make better sense of it tonight and move forward.
