It’s done

I tied in some knots this morning while I had my tea and decided that if I added the binding right away all that is left would be handwork. So that is what I did. I had a bit of trouble getting everything squared up; my table is very small and the tablecloth is very big. I managed to avoid all the thread ends (that need to be tied and buried) when I stitched the binding down. I’ll finish the thread ends and then I can move right on to hand stitching the binding in place.

I’m getting acquainted today with my Fitbit. I decided I’d aim small to start with; no extra walks but I did try to drink more water. My step count matched the Fitbit step count when I did a test this morning. I wanted to see how many steps I get in during an average day of sewing; I’m a long way from 10,000 but I was surprised that I’m just under a mile. I got credit for five flights of stairs, but I know I did six; the one with the tablecloth over my arm didn’t record.

I should have done a clean-up after the tablecloth was finished but instead I rewarded myself by working on my curved piecing. The curves worked out okay and I figured out a few things as I did more of them. The finished piece isn’t the right size (about a quarter of an inch off) but it will do.
