The lists

Monday, September 7, 2015

I was up late last night getting packages of apples ready for the freezer; two bags peeled, cut and frozen and a full bag in the fridge for eating. I gave them a vinegar bath so if Pat doesn’t use them up while I’m gone they will likely still be good when I get home. It will be another late night tonight as I do the final hand stitching on my last three cards.

I’ve been waiting for a good-weather day so I could hang laundry out on the line. Today was about my last chance and although it wasn’t particularly sunny there was a good breeze. I got the first load out and it had dried by lunchtime. I hung out the second load and went out to do a few errands. I was sewing in my studio after I got home when I heard rain on the chimney so I rushed outside and brought the load in off the line. They have gone through a drier cycle and I have one more load that will have to dry. There will be another load tomorrow morning, but I think all the clothes I need to pack are clean.

When I travel I usually have several lists – what to pack, what to bring to drop off for the kids (and others) and a list of projects and books that might make it into my bag. So far I’ve got a pile of things to take with me, and brief idea of the clothes I will take and no clue as to what sort of project might come along with me. I have a book that is almost done and I am tempted to sit up and finish it so I can start a new one on my journey. I’m not sure I’ve ever packed without a list but I guess there is a first time for everything.

I have some computer work to do as well. There were a lot of updates needed on the Guild blog based on the meeting last week, and I need to do some updates on my own website. Pat’s year-end has passed but all of that work will have to wait until I’m home – and it will have to be done as soon as I’m home!

I’ll do a bit of computer work before dinner and then settle in for an evening of bindings.
