Author: Kathy Reichs
The author is a forensic anthropologist who works both in Canada and the US and the comparison has to be made to Patricia Cornwell.
The story rambled a bit between two story lines – unearthing a mass grave in Guatemala from a past civil war and the more recent disappearances of four young women. Part of the story takes place in Quebec as the Canadian ambassador’s daughter is one of the missing girls.
There is a lot of hype in the reviews of the book comparing Reichs to Cormwall, but I prefer the Cormwell books.
