I thought this morning that the smoke had cleared a bit but it is certainly back again this afternoon. The sky is hazy but at least the smell of smoke is gone and I don’t think the ash is falling. I say “I don’t think” because I never got around to dusting the surfaces from the day the ash was so heavy. I like to think I’m not lazy but frugal – why dust if there is a chance of more ash!
I spent the morning in my sewing room. I was reworking the cards from yesterday. I finished one, but I wasn’t happy with how it turned out so I made the second one using different colours. It is better, but I’m still not happy. Will I try for number three? Probably, but not just now.
I haven’t started packing for our trip to the Island. I’m not worried about clothing, but I need to make sure I have all the supplies I’ll need for my crafting projects. I’ve decided not to take my machine; there are too many accessories that I’d have to pack (rulers, threads, etc., etc.). I’ve learned from my Tuesday bees to take all my gadgets with me because you are likely to need the one tool you don’t have. We don’t leave until the noon ferry tomorrow so I’ll have a bit of time in the morning.
We’re off to a pot luck tonight with several musician friends.
