I did some embroidery this morning before heading upstairs to the studio. I had some mail to get ready and then I got a head start on cutting for tomorrow’s bee. My brain must have been suffering from the heat though as I had one of the colours almost completely cut out before realizing I was matching the cutting instructions with the wrong fabric. I was tempted to pitch the whole thing! I managed to get everything cut correctly by lunch; I was able to rework some of those wrongly cut pieces into the right size so I didn’t waste too much fabric.

Even with a fan it was too hot to continue working upstairs; downstairs didn’t feel much better though. Pat promised a breeze on the deck while we ate lunch but it came and went and it was mostly moving the hot air around.

It’s an awkward time of day. It is still not shady enough for sitting on the back deck and too early for a cool shower. We are going out for dinner with friends tonight and a cool shower would be very refreshing but it is still a bit too early for that.
