Taking a break

Sunday, June 7, 2015

After working so hard the past two days on my embroidery project I gave myself a break from it today. I cleaned up my mess from yesterday and got Block 4 ready for the pattern transfer but left it at that. Block 4 has a lot of embroidery (again) but I’m not going to push myself to the point of not enjoying it. A little every day will get it done; I’ve change my timetable for having it done so that takes some of the pressure off. Of course it is only me who puts that pressure on in the first place.

The Tuesday ladies have decided we will do a monthly Seminole pattern. I didn’t even know what that was when they talked about doing it, but someone had a book and it looked like fun. More importantly it was something new to me and a new technique. I like to work on these projects (Seminole and miniature) away from the bee so the reveal can be a bit of a surprise. I wanted to start the Seminole pattern before the next bee though in case I had problems and needed help. The directions looked a little sparse when I read them but once I got started I understood what they were asking me to do. I like the technique and the pattern; the quilt (or whatever we end up with) with be rows of different Seminole patterns.

Carola invitedĀ me for coffee so after lunch I wandered down. I’m sure her message to me said “coffee” but she had a bottle of champagne that was opened last night and she wanted to finish it off before it went bad. I was happy to help her with that; we sat in the shade on her deck and had a good visit.

When I got home I did a bit more work on my mini fans. The Mini Meez meet on Tuesday and I have very little to show for the month. I have two fans left to put together and then they can be attached to the background squares. I added the loonie so that you can see just how mini they are!
