I’ve spent all day figuring out what I’ll take with me to the Mount Washington retreat. As I decided on a pattern I pulled the fabric and did as much of the cutting as I could. I’m not sure what tools we will have over there so the big pieces are cut; I’ll take along rulers and a small cutting board for anything extra that needs done.
I’ll use the same pattern for these two sets of fabrics. It was something I intended to take to the last retreat but didn’t have time to sort out the fabrics. I know what I’m going to do with the projects when they are finished – I’m keeping them!
I saw a very simple and easy pattern packaged as a kit when I was visiting our newest quilt shop. The kit was done in baby fabrics but I picked different fabrics (I felt I should buy something at her grand opening). I may make it larger than the pattern calls for, but for now it is lap size.
These are for a “special” birthday card for a fellow quilter on her 65th birthday. There are 27 squares of green and 27 squares of pink and none are the same. It wasn’t easy, but all but half a dozen of the pink came from pieces I already had cut in my scraps. I think my system is working!
I received some of these fabrics as a Mother’s Day gift from Kathryn. When they are all put back together I’ll probably gift it back to her.
I also plan to add in a miniature quilt project and a few card patterns.
I shouldn’t run out of things to do!
