Doing what I love (even if I’m not good at it)

I said last night that I had some choices – knit, hand stitch or read my book. It doesn’t happen often, but I didn’t do a darned thing last evening! So I hit the ground running this morning.

I got the two birthday card tops finished and they’ll be ready for the mail next week. I’d seen and saved a pattern and tutorial for folding fabric into an origami butterfly and I decided to give it a try. I’ve done, or at least tried, origami with paper many times and never been successful. I’m not sure why I thought origami with fabric would produce different results! I got one shape finished and was able to attach it to a backing to make another card. At least now I know I completely suck at all types of origami!

I gave myself a break and spent the afternoon in the sunshine (inside) doing the hand stitching on one of my Mother’s Day projects. I have two more to do but I think I’ll continue sitting in the sun and finish my book.
