I didn’t post yesterday; you know the saying, “If you can’t say anything nice ..”! The day really wasn’t that bad, but the Red Cross shift was challenging and long so I wasn’t feeling all that chipper when I got home. I was doing some computer training and the woman only had an hour to spend with me. I was trying to teach her what to do, but she had to hit every possible option “just to see what happens”. Then, after we managed to get through a couple of sessions successfully she told me she was going to be away for a month and she’d have to start over when she got back. So, as I said, “If you can’t say anything nice …”.
Today was good though. I finished a card top this morning and got the bindings stitched onto my Mother’s Day projects. These started out to be cards, but I moved them over to the project category when I realized how much work they were. At noon I walked up the hill to the church; they were having a Garage Sale. I’ve been to previous sales and come home with some bargains. I didn’t come home empty handed, but I didn’t find much. I got a bag of yarn that I will use for a scarf for the craft sale (if I do it this year), a file box for the Guild paperwork when I turn it over to the next Treasurer, and a couple of books. I know, I’m supposed to be getting rid of books! I wasn’t even tempted to look in the many boxes of books that were on offer, but these two were sitting right at the top and caught my eye as I walked past. Hopefully they will be quick reads and I’ll get them out the door again.
We have a new-ish coffee shop at the bottom of the hill and they occasionally have performers in for a set in the afternoon. This was the first time I’ve been able to take one in, although Pat has been before. The duo will be performing tonight at one of the pubs, but I saw enough of them this afternoon that I’m not tempted to go out again.
I’m not sure what’s up between now and dinner and between dinner and bedtime. I might hand stitch some bindings, I might finish off another pair of socks, or I might sit and read my book.
