I can’t decide whether or not having a “Tuesday” project is a good idea. Since the Mystery Quilt weekend in March, my Tuesday project has been my Mystery Tablecloth. Although I make some headway each week, I’m tired of the project and I wish it were done, or at least to the quilting stage.
I started my day by tying in some knots on one of my Mother’s Day projects and then moved on to the first of two pieced borders on my tablecloth. When I finished piecing the first border I noticed I had an entire bag of pieced pieces left in my bin. Had I made a huge mistake somewhere? When I checked the pattern I was happy to see that the border I had just pieced was done correctly; I was less than happy to see that there was a second pieced border to go on and I had more than a few pre-cut pieces waiting to be stitched. By the end of the day I managed to get one border stitched in place; I have at least another day of sewing before I can start sandwiching and quilting.
However, just in case the quilting fairies come along in the night and finish it for me, I purchased batting and backing fabric this afternoon. I was at Galena Bay to pick up some fat quarters to finish my Mother’s Day project and I found some backing fabric in their $6.50/yard corner. I also bought the flannel for sandwiching as I was told for a tablecloth flannel would work better than batting.
I’m looking forward to getting the heels finished on at least one pair of socks tonight.
