Busy day

I made two stops this morning before I headed out to the sewing bee. I got our income tax package into the mail to the accountant; next stop was a new bakery in town. Zoe, who runs the bakery, was at our party on Saturday night and left a couple of baskets and I wanted to return them. She makes marvellous pretzels and I was hoping I could purchase one (or maybe two) to take for my lunch, but they weren’t going to be ready until noon. She had some lemon-poppyseed muffins fresh from the oven so I didn’t leave empty handed!

I didn’t get as much done at the bee as I hoped, but then I never do. I worked on a card and had enough time to do a bit of work on my Mystery Quilt. I really need a better name for this; I’m not even sure what the pattern maker called it!

I made a couple more stops on my way home. I wanted to get some sock yarn for Emma’s socks; I picked a neon shade of pink, yellow and green. I hadn’t intended to make Madison socks because she got slippers but they also had a neon purple yarn and I know she loves purple. I had enough needles to have two pair going at the same time so I bought another set so I can work on three pairs in tandem.

The Creative Rift gallery is closing (today is their last day) and I stopped in to see if they had any soap left. They didn’t, but I did find a couple of nice things for Elizabeth. The “soap lady” will be selling through a different gallery so I’ll still be able to get it.

I made some progress last night on Gavin’s socks and I’ll start on Emma’s tonight.
