Two out of three isn’t bad

I spent the morning quilting my St. Patrick’s Day projects; I had all three finished before lunch. I’m getting more comfortable with free-motion quilting, and it is a lot faster than straight lines because I go very slowly trying to make sure my stitches stay in the ditch. I used my go-to designs – loops and meanders. I really need to take the time some day to learn a new stitch or two.

I attached the binding after lunch and was looking forward to three finishes for the day, but my afternoon was interrupted by a necessary trip to a few stores. We’re having a pot luck at the bee tomorrow and I wanted to take the cucumber salad I made for BOND last week. Since I was going out for those ingredients (and a few things Pat needed for dinner) I took the entire list and made stops at the dollar store and Canadian Tire.  It is amazing how many items on my list were available at the dollar store.

When I got home I spent the rest of the afternoon in my chair in the sunshine hand stitching the bindings. It was so warm that I honestly thought about going out to the deck. None of the deck furniture has been washed down and cleaned up from its winter dust though so I stayed inside. I managed to make my way around two of the pieces; I will probably leave the third one until tomorrow as I’d like to finish the slippers tonight.

It will be a busy (and possibly late) night for me as I haven’t even started packing my gear for the bee tomorrow and I have a salad to make as well.
