I usually enjoy a full day at home on Wednesday and yes, my full day generally includes sewing all day! Looking at my schedule for the next few days though got me mixing things up a bit.
With the house concert on Friday and a busy day tomorrow I thought I should get a head start on cleaning. I did a thorough cleaning of the laundry room; there were items that needed to go to the recycle depot and lots of wine and soft drink containers that needed to be returned. I didn’t take the returns back for credit, but they are all loaded into the trunk of my car and I’ll take them when I’m back from Vancouver. It is garbage and recycle day on Friday as well so I loaded up both those cans; it will be an easy job to get them to the curb. Since I was in the laundry room anyway I ran a few loads through the washer and drier; the bedding and towels from last week’s visitors was already done, but I had a hamper full of our clothes.
Tomorrow is the final day for quilt show entries so I took my photos and had them printed at Walmart. Since the recycle depot is very close to Walmart I stopped in and got rid of my plastic and glass. I asked a few questions about things I wasn’t sure of and got lots of information from the worker there. I came home and did a bit more sorting between the garbage and the recycle bins but I think I have everything in the right place now.
I got my quilt show entry forms all filled out before lunch. I’m limited in my descriptions to 50 words and that was difficult for most of my projects; I used less words on some of the pieces and a few extra on a couple but maybe the committee won’t be too picky. I will eventually do a post on each of the entries, but right now I’m still struggling to get them done!
After my lunch break I did the vacuuming. I don’t vacuum all that regularly but since it was done before last week’s guests it didn’t take me too long today. The kitchen floor needs more attention and I’ll clean the bathrooms tomorrow morning before I go to the Red Cross. And since I was kind of working off my schedule I spent some time this afternoon getting my Guild reports ready for the two meetings I have tomorrow. There were also a few phone calls I needed to make regarding the Guild insurance; there is one more Guild report that has to be taken care of before I leave on Saturday but I think I’ll be able to get it done quickly.
With all that going on I was surprised that there was still time to do a bit of quilting this afternoon. Pat has gone to the movie tonight so I’ll spend some time in my studio making up for the day I took off on the weekend.
