Back on track

I slept until the alarm woke me at 7:30 so there is no reason for me to be tired today. Besides it was a sewing day and those days always give me energy rather than take it. We were celebrating a 65th birthday today so it was a pot luck lunch. When we had our guests here on the weekend Pat made a tray with ham and cheese slices as a midnight snack; it looked good and so I decided to replicate it for lunch today. So, again this morning, I was in the kitchen chopping before eight!

I tried a different method for my paper piecing today and the results were better. Before I attached the pattern and freezer paper to the fabric I used my sewing machine to score along the stitching line. This made the folds easier and they were definitely more even. My stitching can still be off, but overall it worked better. I think I’d look first for patterns that are only one piece though. This experiment leaves me doubting whether the method will help with my Farmers Wife blocks but I’ll try it.

I’ve been too tired to even think about knitting the last few evenings but I think tonight I will attach the jewellery and buttons to the last two pieces of My Crazy Life.
