Catching up and looking forward

After a good sleep in my own bed last night I was ready to get to work this morning. It took me longer than usual to review my mail and Facebook because while we were away I was only looking at the “important” stuff. It was recycle day so I got that taken care of, as well as a few chores around the house. In my studio it was a day for cards; I hoped I’d get more than one finished but it took me all day for the one card that is due tomorrow. I had already made what I thought was a good start on it; perhaps I’m slower than usual getting back to it.

When I unpacked my suitcase last night I started packing for our Ireland trip. I think I have a good plan for the clothes I want to take and some of my electronics, gadgets and toiletries from our Ontario trip just stayed in the suitcase. I made a list of the many things I need to do before we leave again. Largest among the items is to finish up Pat’s year-end accounting. The stitching will have to take a back seat for the next while.

While we were traveling I finished a pair of yoga socks and started another pair. I was able to knit on the plane yesterday and it certainly helped to pass the time. I had one moment of panic when one of the balls of wool slipped off the seat. Fortunately it didn’t roll far but when I was retrieving it the other ball got loose on me. Can you imagine how embarrassed I’d be if I had to run down the aisle looking for my wool? Luckily the second ball was easy to retrieve as well and I came up with a better solution so they didn’t get away on me again.

I was able to download my photos from our trip today so I’ll share a few of them with you.
