We got our wish and then some!
We did a bit of wandering after our coffee stop – bought some cheese for a later snack and browsed a couple of book shops. We found the street that the quilt store is on but decided it would likely be closed by the time we got to it. We did find a wool shop – The Close Knit. I was about to go out the door empty-handed when I spied some kits in a basket. I got a kit to make a really nice lace wrap. I didn’t need it and I don’t know when I’ll make it but that is part of the fun of impulse shopping.
We didn’t have any dinner plans, but Molly Bloom’s Irish Pub called to us. While we waited for food and enjoyed our beer we looked at the map for our Ireland trip. As we ate the lights kept going on and off and it was getting darker and darker outside.
We left the pub just as it started to rain and it was really coming down by the time we walked the three blocks home. In order to lighten my load on our walk I had taken my jacket, umbrella and rain hat out of my bag. I was pretty wet by the time I made it in the door. I was anticipating a nice cup of coffee when we got home but we don’t have any power.
The thunder and lightening held off until we were safely inside but it has continued steadily and shows no sign of stopping. If it lasts much longer I will go to bed and hope for coffee in the morning.
