Although the book was on my “to read” list, I didn’t go to the library specifically for it. As I waited in line to check out another book I saw it sitting on the shelf and grabbed it. The book is very different from The Room, and the writing is in a more adult voice. The story switches quickly between the past (before the murder) and the present (after the murder) and in some cases this was confusing. The book was on loan for only a week and it wouldn’t have been any problem getting it read in a few days but I had my grandchildren visiting and I got it back to the library just in time to avoid a fine.
