I won’t make you use Google Translator to decipher my greeting – it’s Hello in Gaelic. This morning Pat and I booked a three-week vacation in Ireland. We’ll fly into Dublin on the 26th of September; it was a quick decision based on a WestJet sale and we haven’t spent any time sorting out where we’ll stay and what we’ll see. Pat is teaching all week so he doesn’t have any time. I can’t either because he’s teaching an online course so I have to stay off the web. If all we do is sit in Irish pubs and walk the green hills I’ll be happy!
I made the forgotten card this morning. You may wonder why I didn’t just switch one of the ones I made for later in the month, but I plan each card based on who I’m giving it to. I started with a bit of novelty fabric and added a few strips and it was done in no time at all. I got it and two other cards in the mail before heading to the sewing bee to drop off a few reports, my bags, and take some photos for today’s blog.
On my way home I stopped at the $ store; I needed a new ironing board cover but wasn’t sure I could get one there. I’m glad I could because I continue (even though I think I’m careful) getting sticky appliqué stuff on my covers. I also picked up a container to pack my hexies in, and a few bags to help keep the sets of blossoms straight. I’m looking forward to stitching them. Before I get to them though I have another card that I’m making with hexagons. Really small hexagons – three-eighths of an inch! I was given the kit and I’ll make it as a card to give back to the person who gave it to me.
I’ve been making progress clearing off my list; I have the cards done, I have my hexies packed for traveling, and I sewed my fabric scraps into a dog pillow. As I’ve remembered things though I’ve continually added more items to it. Based on an e-mail I received this morning I’m going to have to do another Guild report before I go to Ontario; it will require some research and a recommendation for the next Guild meeting. Most of it can be done by phone, but of course the phone is tied up most of the day with Pat’s teaching. Tomorrow is meant to be my clean-up day; maybe if I’m quick (unlikely) I’ll be able to get back to the list.
I’m going to try and get my Galena Bay sale order figured out before dinner and I’ll get back to my yoga socks for the evening (I’m working on the fourth pair).
