I made two stops on my way to quilting today. Carola wanted to buy me a coffee so we stopped at Starbucks, and then I had to stop at the post office to mail the first of my June cards. We had an early start though and we were at the centre in plenty of time to get our usual tables (after we set up our usual tables). If you get there early you have to help set up (ironing boards, irons, tables, power bars) and if you stay late enough you have to help take-down (ironing boards, irons, tables, power bars AND sweep the floor). I’m generally among the first few to arrive and one of the last to leave.
There was talk today of a Christmas Craft fair at the centre. Several of the quilters weren’t happy with the set-up at Dwight Hall last year and vowed not to go back. I was among those several; it was too crowded and the cost of a table was too high. I suggested Carola would be a good organizer of the event and she is already off and running with four people (including me) commiting to a table.
I finished my afghan last night so I will add it to my Tickle Trunk. It isn’t much, but it is a start to filling my table at the sale. I have several small projects in mind (including my fabric basket) that I’ll make a few of. Starting this early (and adding what didn’t sell last year) should ensure I’ll have enough for a table on my own; last year Carola and I shared a space.
We are down to the final few episodes of The Shield so I’d better pull out a new knitting pattern for the evening.
