Even when I’m at the sewing bee I start my day with a Farmer’s Wife Quilt block and a card. The Farmer’s Wife block was paper-pieced and I was extra careful not to get anything done backwards. I’m hoping I have perfected a method that will steer me straight on the paper-pieced blocks. It took me until noon though to get the block finished; not my speediest work.
I decided I’d better power through the card if I was going to hit my “main” project for the day. I was working on a poorly defined pattern and after two false starts I finally got something that worked. The card turned out larger than it should have been, but I couldn’t see anywhere in the pattern where it could be cut down without losing points (and I lose enough of those in the stitching). This card is a good reminder to look at the instructions as opposed to only checking that I like the pattern.
And then the day was over and only one block and one card top to show for it!
