I’ve made two trips to the hospital today and I’m not even sick!
I went to Emergency first thing this morning and had my stitches removed. I wasn’t sure that they were all ready to come out but I knew some of them were healed well enough. I got to the triage area right away and then sat in an examination room for almost an hour. The doctor took a look at them (for about two seconds) and told me the nurse would take them out. I waited another 15 minutes and was called into the treatment room for the removal. The nurse really struggled with getting them out; although he didn’t actually curse the Campbell River doctor he suggested they should send me back to Campbell River to get the stitches out. After about 45 minutes of torture I was back home.
I stopped at the Post Office on the way home and mailed the majority of my May cards. The clerk suggested I repackage one of them so it could go as a letter rather than a parcel. Since it saved me ten dollars I brought it home to re-wrap. I’ve always tried to fit things into the smallest package possible, but apparently the rate is based more on the thickness of the package.
My second trip was quicker, but no less painful (you’ll understand if you’ve ever had a mammogram). I dropped off the last card on my way home so everything is in the mail finally. I still need to get a book back to the Library, but I have a few days for that (or I could go after dark and use the after-hours slot).
I still am very conscious of the marks on my face so I’m going to skip my Red Cross shift tomorrow as well as the Guild demo tomorrow night. By the time my next commitment comes up I should be good to go.
