I had a lovely trip but it is so nice to be home again.
My visit in Calgary was short, and involved snow, but I did have fun. My week of sewing was awesome and my sisters shared some of their knowledge with me as I stitched and re-stitiched my projects. I was happy to be able to pass on a couple of hints to them; ones that I had learned from my fellow Guild members. Our weekend at the farm was great; we were, of course, missing Lynne but I think she would have been glad that we were carrying on. There were a few tears, and lots of laughter. The Saskatoon visit was also short, and also involved snow. It didn’t seem so strange to be going with Alex to skating lessons when there was snow in the air and on the ground.
Here at home things are blooming; the lilacs are close to blossoming, all the trees are in leaf, the hostas are glorious and the Solomon Seals are growing by the hour. It feels like summer outside today.
I have both of my suitcases unpacked, but I don’t have everything put away. I did a bit of catching up this morning before heading to the library to pick up a book that I had on order. I got my reports ready for the Guild meeting tonight and had time for a bit more tidying before heading off to my Red Cross shift.
I decided I needed a new bin for my 30’s reproduction fabrics so stopped at Canadian Tire on my way home. They had some nice bins on sale so I came home with four of them. I started a few new projects while we were at Panorama and I felt they each deserved a proper home (at least until I get them finished).
I’m off to a Guild meeting tonight but in the meantime I will continue to plod away at finding the right places for all the gear I brought home, as well as the new stuff I bought along the way!
