Cookin’

Pat and I had a misunderstanding this morning regarding who was going to be the recipients of the two Tourtière I was planning to make.

I had originally planned one for the Guild pot luck tomorrow at the bee, and the second was going to be for our New Year’s dinner. Yesterday we were invited to a New Year’s Eve party and Pat thought we should take one to Geoff and Brenda’s. Brenda always brings such lovely baked goods to our House Concerts. That seemed like a good idea so we were set. Or so I thought!

When I asked what Pat was planning for New Year’s dinner he said he thought we were having one of the Tourtière. My reply was that if we saved one for New Year’s then I didn’t have anything for the Guild pot luck.

As it turned out we had a ham bone in the freezer so I have stock cooking. I will put on a crock pot of split pea soup to cook overnight and that is what I will take to the bee. That meant another trip to the grocery store for more supplies. I bought a bag of Fortune Cookies to take to the bee – maybe they will predict more quilting in my future!

In between shopping and cooking I put away all the Christmas decorations. At least I hope I got them all.
