A great holiday

We spent a few days in Victoria to celebrate the season.

We left home on the 23rd, and made it to the City early enough for me to hit one of the quilt stores that was going to be closed the rest of the days we were there. I didn’t have as much choice as I would have liked, but I got something that will work just fine for my Hubble project. Pat was amazed that I was in and out of the store in such a short time, but I was really focused on not buying for the sake of buying!

We spent the next few days wandering the streets and enjoying the sights. The Magnolia hotel has to be one of the best in the city and we were so comfortable in our room we almost had to force ourselves to go out. Part of that forcing was getting me out to another quilt shop. I wish I’d been as focused there as I was at the first shop – I’m afraid I indulged in a few “new” things.

We hit Munro Books on Boxing Day and did some impulse shopping at Murchie’s while we waited for the book store to open. We also saved a lot of money at The Bay – by spending a lot of money!

Our original plan was to leave for home early on the 27th but Pat wanted to re-visit one of the music stores he was at on the 24th.While he waited for the shop to open at 11, I spent my time (and money) at Staples and Satin Moon! The store opened early for Pat and he finished at about the same time I did so we hit the road. We were able to make the 3:15 ferry and were home by 4:30.

I unpacked last night, but it took until today for me to put everything away. We received some lovely gifts and they have all found spots in their new home. That’s not to say I won’t be changing them around in the days to come, but for now I’m enjoying them all.

I missed my reading time this afternoon, but I had to finish up Pat’s GST reporting. I’m glad to have that done with and I hope tomorrow I can get back to some sewing.
