I slept in until almost eight this morning. I spent my usual hour on my iPad and by the time breakfast and a second cup of coffee were done it was ten.
I headed upstairs to my studio thinking my appliqué project would be done in no time. The step I was working on called for some hand stitching – snowflakes, ear muffs and button eyes for my snowman. I had a few false starts with the embroidery but finished it in time to rush out the door for my Cash Mob event.
Once a month a group in town (the Cash Mobbers) pick a local business to invade. We all pledge to spend at least $20 (cash). Today’s event was at a very nice gift shop and, since I have some January birthdays approaching, I hoped to pick up a couple of gifts. Much as I like the store, the last few times I’ve been in everything looked like clutter to me. Picking my gifts was harder than I thought it would be.
When I got home it was time for my reading session. To be honest, today I curled up on the couch to read. And after my two hours were up I was oh-so-close to finishing my book (and oh-so-comfortable) that I decided I would stay curled up and finish it.
I’ll get some more knitting done this evening. I dropped a stitch last night and, although I picked it up (I thought) and continued knitting, a few rows further on it didn’t look so good and I had to start ripping back. I think I have a bit more backtracking to do before moving forward again.
So that’s where my day went!
