First thing this morning I finished up the companion piece to yesterday’s project. I’ll definitely keep this pattern in mind for the future as both pieces could easily be done in a day. I can see it as an item either for the quilt show boutique or another craft sale. I’d need to be sure my friend who lent me the pattern didn’t have the same idea though.
After that was finished I headed out to do some work in the yard. The ground was quite frosty but it wasn’t cold for working. I think I enjoy the yard work more now than during the summer when you have to be out early so it isn’t too hot. Now that many of the plants have died back it is so much easier to see the weeds too. In spite of the frosts we’ve had there is still a rose in bloom, the lavender still smells wonderful and there are a couple of Bachelor Buttons that just won’t quit.
While I was out I dug into the trunks in the storage shed and brought in more Christmas decorations. There are still more out there, but I think I’ll keep the decorations to a minimum. We probably won’t have a tree and with the decorations I have displayed the house looks festive but not overcrowded. Maybe Pat will want to add more when he comes home but I doubt it. I’ve left the lights for him to sort out.
I spent all afternoon getting my reports ready for the Guild meeting tomorrow. Usually I finish everything up the day after the meeting, but last month I was crazy busy with the craft show and didn’t get to it. I have three reports to present – the Treasurer’s Report, the Blog/Facebook report and announcements from CQA. What continues to amaze me is that I spend less time with these three items than I did last year on the Membership committee.
I’m still one gift short so I’ll be working on that tonight.
