Just in time

My goodness we’re counting down the days until the end of the year. And all my grandchildren will be counting down the days until Christmas.

I finished the Meals on Wheels placemat last night and I’m pleased with the way it turned out. Most of the fabrics were from a box I picked up at a yard sale earlier this summer. I’ve used fabrics from that box for a lot of Christmas items.

I worked on birthday cards this morning but I still have a few more to go. I’m using a variety of techniques for this month – all in the hope that they go together quicker than my paper-pieced cards.

I didn’t get any further on my Christmas wrapping, but I did notice I was a couple of gifts short for a few folks. Not to worry though because I’ve already pick out one gift I can order online, and it really isn’t too late to make the other gift. Or is it?

I had a visit and coffee with a quilting friend this afternoon. I went specifically to borrow a pattern but I came away with an armful of goodies! Shirley gave me a tour of her quilting room (very organized) and she showed me a number of quilts she has been working on. I must get better organized (I need more bins) and I must get to work on some of my UFOs. I wonder if there a cute name for projects when I have the pattern and materials picked out but they aren’t yet started? I probably have more of them than UFOs.
