Labels
If only the quilts were as quick to make as the labels!

Bells

The crayon demo last night was a lot of fun. I took a stylized “S” with me hoping I could use it (and the crayon technique) on my quilt labels, but it didn’t work as planned. I’ll play a bit more with a few ideas before giving up. The flowers will work well for quilt labels, and I decided to do something Christmassy as another test. The bells aren’t finished yet but I can work on them as a holiday project. I can see myself having some fun with my grandchildren using this technique.

Christy gave me a gift card for my birthday and I ordered a quilting book that arrived today. It has tons of ideas for English paper piecing and my fingers are itching to get started. Although I haven’t had time to look at the book really closely, I found one pattern that I will use part of for my pizza box block. And even better, the book uses a lot of those 40 reproduction fabrics that I’m enthralled with.

Almost everything is set for the house concert tonight. Our performer hasn’t arrived at the house yet, but I’m assuming he came over on the 11:30 ferry and is visiting with his son, who lives in town.
