Back to the machine

Carola and I had planned to have coffee this morning and then do some Dollar Store shopping. She sent me a message early this morning saying she had a migraine and wouldn’t be able to make it. I had a list of errands that needed to be done so, after I had my coffee and breakfast, I headed out. My first stop was the bank because the Dollar Store doesn’t take credit cards. Next stop was the Dollar Store for some Christmassy ribbons for some of the crafts I’ve been making. And if I picked up a few other things it doesn’t matter because they are only $1! I had a Guild deposit to make – nothing like the size of deposits we were making for Deloise at the quilt show, but worth having in the bank never the less. From there it was a trip to WalMart, Safeway and a quick trip into 7-11 on my way home.

I’m working on placemats today. I finished the tops when I was at Kathryn’s. I had the backing fabric with me but somehow forgot the batting so I couldn’t go any further with them in Saskatoon. I’ve got backings cut for the first set (of four) and batting cut for seven of the eight I’ll be making. I’m doing some simple cross-hatching on them, but they take some time. Hopefully I can get them finished up tomorrow. Today is the first day back on my machine and I’m enjoying myself.

We’re off to Grant Lawrence’s book launch tonight.
