It’s been another foggy day here in Powell River. Once bright spot though was this lovely spider web I spotted on the deck just outside the dining room.
I worked on my Hallowe’en pieces for part of the morning. They are ready to quilt so I feel like I’m on top of those projects. Of course the quilting and binding always take more time than I expect, but I’m pretty sure I can get them in the mail by Monday.
I’ve had ideas for the craft sale but, since I’d never tried the patterns, I wasn’t sure whether or not they would work. I took some time to test the patterns and get a few pre-cuts ready for my trip.
The strip of pieced blocks on these placemats came from a bag of scraps I recently purchased. It was a quick job to add some background and backing fabric. I was familiar with the pattern for the coasters, but it took a lot of time to get all these pieces cut out. Except for two sets, I made them in Christmas fabrics.
The idea for a plastic bag holder came from a book I recently won at a Guild meeting. Although I didn’t use the pattern in the book, I found a simpler version online. And last, but not least, I made some fabric gift bags. They come in three different sizes but I’ll sell them separately. I’m mainly using scraps and I doubt whether I have enough of any one fabric for three matching bags.
