Today was a BOND day. It’s been a few weeks since I was there, but I was repeating one of my previous menus so I wasn’t too worried. We had a baked potato bar, which is baked potatoes and several toppings that the ladies choose from. I also had a green salad, a small tray of veggies and our fruit tray. I bought organic Russet potatoes and I was a bit concerned about them right from the beginning. As I was washing them, almost all of the peel came off. In my opinion the main reason for baking a potato is the skin!. I cook the potatoes for five minutes in the microwave before transferring them to the oven. When they came out of the microwave they were cooked more than I expected. In the end though everything worked out and there were no leftovers for me to bring home.
I stopped in at the Red Cross after BOND. There were a few things that I didn’t get done the last time I was there, and there were a few more items needing new numbers. I had intended to stop and do a few errands on the way home but when I came out of the hospital it was raining and I didn’t want to be out and about in the rain without my rain hat!
I’ve been asked to write a magazine article about out Days for Girls Guild project. I write my own journal every day, and I write the Guild blog at least once a week. You’d think that writing one more thing wouldn’t be that difficult but I’m feeling very intimidated by the whole idea. I’ve written and re-written a few drafts, and I’ve decided that today is the day I’m going to settle on a final draft. I’ll take it to the bee tomorrow and they can decide if it is ready to submit.
No TV until that is done. Yes, Netflix is running!
