Waiting

Friday, October 4, 2013

I was up early and finished another project for my Tickle Trunk. I popped down the hill to Carola’s and dropped off her The Slice! challenge box from last night’s Guild meeting. I picked up the next box for myself and I’m happy with the theme of the box. I took some time from my day to pick out a pattern for my block; had my iPad been working I could have done that from the comfort of my armchair. Since I’ll be travelling this month I think it is best that I get the block done quickly. While I was looking at patterns I picked out some Hallowe’en pieces for my grandchildren – there is no end to my lists!

I had to wait today for a courier re-delivery – I was out yesterday when they stopped. While I waited I did some work from the last night’s Guild meeting – making up the deposit, recording the income and expenses, writing some cheques, and doing some updates to the blog site. This was all finished, and still no word from the courier.

The wireless network still isn’t working; Pat thinks our Time Machine may be at the end of its life. I had to connect my printer directly to my computer yesterday because I needed to print my reports for the Guild meeting. I did a quick rearrange and shifted the printer desk in behind my sewing chair. It was very awkward and I couldn’t open either my bureau (that contains office supplies) or my filing cabinet. So I decided to do some permanent rearranging. At one point I had myself so boxed into a corner that had the courier come I probably wouldn’t have been able to make it out in time to catch him!

The courier arrived mid-afternoon, but by then I had already decided that I wouldn’t make it out to the bank with my deposit. I did a bit more knitting after a late lunch and then, finally, got busy with some quilting. I finished the first task I set for myself quicker than I expected, and I’ll continue on for a bit of the evening.
