Double the pleasure

Elizabeth e-mailed me this morning and suggested I fly to Calgary for Thanksgiving. Pat will be finishing up his course in Banff that weekend. We’ll have Thanksgiving with Elizabeth’s family and then drive home together. I’m so happy. I’m always thrilled at the chance of a visit to Calgary, and I love road trips with Pat! Make that a double happy dance!

I’ve been quilting, and quilting, and quilting.. The quilting is going along fine and I’m thoroughly enjoying listening to music as I stitch. There is no better company than Leonard Cohen, Jill Barber, Adele, and so many more that are in my Listen Up playlist! I have the 470 songs sorted by song title and I’m often checking to see who is singing the current song. Just now I had to check on Autumn Leaves; this version is by Eva Cassidy and I love the entire Live at Blues Alley album (even though it is listed as Jazz)!

The book I’m reading (Appointment in Samarra) is due back at the library on Tuesday so I’m reading a chapter here and there as I sit for a cup of coffee and before bed. Pat got me a new book for my birthday so as soon as this one is finished I’m on to The Story of San Michele (a place we visited when in Italy).
