I’m not going to talk about it

I was up way too late last night. After the concert we had an impromptu after-party with a few of the musicians who attended. It was close to midnight before the last of them left. I thought that we’d be calling it a night shortly after but two of the band members were ready to keep going.

Pat had the excuse that he was teaching so he left us about half past midnight, but Amber, Michelle and I kept at it. In my own defense I was only there because I thought it would be rude to leave them on their own. When I went to bed at 1:30 the two of them were thinking they’d like to take a walk around the block. I don’t know whether or not that happened. None of them were up and about very early. I packed a breakfast-to-go and they headed out the door about 8:45 with just enough time (we hoped) for them to get on the ferry.

As soon as I opened my eyes this morning I told myself that when everyone left I was going to go back to bed. But there was still a lot of cleaning up to do so I did that and then got started on the laundry. I’ve been fighting a nap all day, but I’ll aim for an early night tonight.

I had my Red Cross shift this afternoon and came home quite frustrated. I’ve complained so much lately about that job that some folks (Pat and Diane) are suggesting I should give it up. I’m not likely to do that this term, but I won’t bore you with the details of today’s issues.

On a happier note, we are off to the movies tonight. Neither one of us really wants to go out, but we both really want to see the show.
