Slacking off

Although I normally would have stopped at the Red Cross yesterday after the bee, I skipped it. We were meeting at our alternate location which is straight up the hill from home so I decided not to go out of my way with a trip to the hospital. I figured I could catch up today.

I hoped to start quilting today but when I came up to my studio my cutting table was littered with scraps. I’ve been separating and cutting my fabric based on whether there is enough to put back into my stash, whether a piece is big enough for my fat quarter bin or whether it needs to be cut down into squares (anywhere from 5” to 2 1/2”). I was close to finishing up one bucket so I didn’t want to put it away before it was done. It was noon before I finished but I feel so organized! All the remaining bits and pieces will go back to the Guild to be included in pillows we are making for the SPCA Animal Shelter.

After lunch I thought I’d come upstairs and work on the skirt until it was time to leave for the Red Cross. I was making such good progress that I decided to skip the Red Cross again today. I’ll be there tomorrow for my regular shift and, hopefully, there haven’t been too many returns over the past two days.

It has been a long time since I was at the movies. Our art film series starts tonight so movies will be a regular appointment in our calendar.
