Trust yourself

I spent the morning working on the blocks for my baby quilt. Even after sewing half of them backwards I was still able to finish them all. I’m not sure the blocks I redid needed to be re-stitched, but I decided it was easier to do them now rather than later. Next step will be positioning the blocks. I’m using an assortment of colours and novelty prints and I will get Pat involved before I start sewing blocks together.

I made my daily trip to the Red Cross expecting to be only a short while. I finally got out the door after two hours! I’m surprised at the number of returns we are still getting from old equipment but eventually it should slow down. I’m also doing most of the data entry; I’m not sure why the other volunteers who were trained aren’t keeping it up better. And, of course, there are always a variety of mistakes to sort out.

If you are following me on GoodReads you will know I’m reading The End of Your Life Book Club. It is an enjoyable book, but for almost every chapter there are one or two books that interest me and get added to my booklist. I recently ordered two of those books through the inter-library loan program (online). I had convinced myself I must have done something wrong because the books were taking a long time in arriving. I finally got notification today that one of my books was in. When I went to pick it up they had both of my requests ready.

I don’t use the service often, and it confuses me every time. The books were ordered at the time when my library card expired so I thought my request might have been denied because of that. I guess I should learn to trust myself more and assume I’ve done it right as opposed to thinking I’ve done it wrong!
