The show last night was great! There was a good turn-out and, not surprisingly, everyone loved the group. We were late getting to bed and then up early this morning to catch the first ferry to the Island. We parted ways with the band in the parking lot; they were headed to Cortez Island for a show tonight.
Pat had a medical appointment for just past eleven. I had him drop me at Fabricland so I could look for a mascot pattern for Will and Alex. Because of the size difference between the two I ended up getting two different sizes of the same pattern. I’ve sent a photo off to the boys for approval. I won’t get a chance to start sewing before I leave, but Will assures me I can sew it when I get there!
The medical office was about a six block walk from the fabric shop. On the way back I stopped in at a small strip mall but didn’t find much of interest. The Dollar Store was small, dark and cramped; the hair salon didn’t have any free time to cut my hair; and the clothing store was very expensive. I decided to wait at the doctor’s office until Pat was finished. I had just settled in with a magazine when Pat came out from the back and said he was finished. It wasn’t even time for his appointment to start!
On our last trip we found a restaurant that came highly recommended by folks in Powell River and we were looking forward to another meal there. Pat stopped in and started with a coffee while I wandered to a second hand shop just up the street. I found three books the last time we visited and I brought another one home today – Barefoot.
After lunch we headed to the ferry terminal and, while we waited for the ferry, Pat had a nap and I hid some knots in my Mario project. If I can finish Mario tonight I have some hope of finishing one more project before I travel next week.
